A bstract We study two-to-two scattering amplitudes of a scalar particle mass m . For simplicity, we assume the presence ? 2 symmetry and that is odd. consider two classes amplitudes: fully nonperturbative ones effective field theory (EFT) with cut-off scale M Using primal numerical method which allows us to impose full non-linear unitarity, construct novel bounds on various observables in ? d 4 space-time dimensions for both amplitudes. show our are much stronger than obtained by using linearized unitarity or positivity only. discuss applications constraining EFTs. Finally, compare amplitude ? computed perturbatively at weak coupling, find they saturate bounds.

Investigation of Scalar Modulation Instability in the Presence of Raman Scattering in Photonic Crystal Fibers
In this paper, by including Raman scattering in the coupled-mode equations, the scalar modulation instability in photonic crystal fibers is investigated. The evolution of the pump, Stokes and anti-Stokes waves along the fiber as well as the conversion efficiency for two cases, with and without Raman effect, are studied. The effect of anti-Stokes seed and the pump depletion on the evolution of S...
متن کاملON THE NONPERTURBATIVE CONSISTENCY OF d = 2 STRING THEORY
An infinite number of distinct d = 1 matrix models reproduce the perturbation theory of d = 2 string theory. Due to constraints of causality, however, we argue that none of the existing constructions gives a consistent nonperturbative definition of the d = 2 string. Electronic address: [email protected] The search for a nonperturbative formulation of string theory remains a key open probl...
متن کاملScattering of scalar waves by many small particles
Formulas are derived for solutions of many-body wave scattering problems by small particles in the case of acoustically soft, hard, and impedance particles embedded in an inhomogeneous medium. The limiting case is considered, when the size a of small particles tends to zero while their number tends to infinity at a suitable rate. Equations for the limiting effective (self-consistent) field in t...
متن کاملNonperturbative Calculation of Scattering Amplitudes
A method for the nonperturbative calculation of scattering amplitudes and cross sections is discussed in the context of light-cone quantization. The Lanczos-based recursion method of Haydock is suggested for the computation of matrix elements of the resolvent for the light-cone Hamiltonian, from which the T -matrix can be constructed. The scattering of composite particles is handled by a genera...
متن کاملNonperturbative sum over topologies in 2 D Lorentzian quantum gravity ∗
The recent progress in the Causal Dynamical Triangulations (CDT) approach to quantum gravity indicates that gravitation is nonperturbatively renormalizable. We review some of the latest results in 1+1 and 3+1 dimensions with special emphasis on the 1+1 model. In particular we discuss a nonperturbative implementation of the sum over topologies in the gravitational path integral in 1+1 dimensions...
